Ebr,

I'm going to attempt to provide all the detail/logs/pics you'd need to look at this.. we'll see how i do.. of course, ask if you want anything additional or have something else for me to try.

overview:

my suggested channel in tv for the series "24" is displaying watched items from season 1.. other clients/server confirm that the only unwatched ones should be coming from the brand new season 9.. (3 total unwatched eps..plus any upcoming that mbplus would show grey'ed out)

Please NO RUSH, but i've manually (in the web client) toggled the watched status for the ENTIRE show to watched... then the new 3 eps back to unwatched to try to "knock it loose".. no change..

i believe that i'm uptodate on all plugins and dev of both mbc and server

Have you ever watched any episode of 24 via that user profile with any MB 3 client?

My thinking here is that it is getting confused because it cannot find an episode you last watched in order to know where to start the channel.  It doesn't assume unwatched episodes only because you could be binge watching past series.

If I'm right, as soon as you watch the first episode, it will fix itself up.

@@MrWebsmith - I've seen similar in other clients.

I haven't started to watch anything in season 2 of a TV show, but it doesn't appear in the next up page.

I think this is a bug, as when I start to watch the first episode, next up is updated.

This is a totally different stream of logic.  I'm not sure how the server's "next up" is determining things but MB Plus doesn't care about seasons.  It treats the series as one long stream of episodes and displays them in sequence - even across seasons.

The issue here, I believe, is that MB Plus cannot determine the last episode of "24" web actually watched because maybe he never has actually watched one in MB 3 (not just marked watched but actually played).  But, I need him to confirm that as that is just a guess at this point on my part.

OK, only mentioned it as it was similar to what I'd seen.. Perhaps I should raise in Android forum.

I imagine Red is just using the API function, so I'd confirm if you see the same thing in the web client and then raise it in the server thread.

@@ebr

i will WAIT if youd like me to test the scenario of just "watching" the first of these listed eps.. or i can UPDATE and retest, if you'd rather based on my feedback above this post

It will shift to season 1 episode 2 because that will be the next one after you watched.  Like I said, it doesn't pay attention to watched status but, rather, actual playback dates.

So, if you want it to pick up with season 9, episode 1, play season 8 episode 24 (or the last one you have).  Just play it and skip to the end.

ok to do that test in webclient.. or do you prefer that i remote into mbc and do it from that?

well i did the test 8x24 played to 100% in the webclient.. then lanched mbc/mbplus and the channel has fixed itself as you guessed. in the future i will just replay/redo the previous ep if its ever off track like this again

thanks ebr

This shouldn't happen much.  This was a rare situation because you have a series airing its first episode in several years.  So, you had all the content from the previous seasons but had never actually watched any of them (in MB 3).

Then, what really threw it off was you watched a "special" which caused MB Plus to see that you had watched "something" in that series so it created a channel for it. But, when it went looking for the last actual episode you watched, there was none, so it just started at the beginning.

I think that is all a pretty rare set of circumstances.
