jrissole 0
Server Version 3.0.5238.39498 I have a folder "TV Misc" containing a mixture of videos and TV shows, but when you try to view it it shows no items. The GetItems snapshot of the Root folder shows it as containing 9 children and 206 items [see attached file "GetItems Root.htm"] but listing the folder itself yields no items [see attached file "GetItems TV Misc.htm"] This folder works fine with MediaBrowser2. GetItems Root.htm GetItems TV Misc.htm
Melyan 2
It looks like you haven't selected a collection type for your TV/Misc folder so MBS doesn't know how to work with them. Try selecting TV Shows as the collection type and see if that works. Edited May 13, 2014 by Melyan
jrissole 0
The folder type had been set to "Mixed Movies & TV". I removed the folder and added it again as "TV Shows". It now lists the videos and TV shows within it. The videos in its root folder will play as will episodes in a TV show that are under subdirectories in the form "TV Show Name\SeasonX\Show.Name,S0xE0x.Episode.Name.ext". However, another news show where the episodes are under a subdirectory in the form "TV Show Name\Show.Name,2014.05.09.ext" doesn't work. The show is displayed under the root folder as having 177 items but when you try to list it you get 0 items. As an extra, when I removed and re-added the "TV Misc" folder the "DVD" folder stopped working (came up as 0 items). Removing it and adding it again fixed it. jrissole 0
OK, but daily news shows do not lend themselves to a naming convention of the form Season X Episode Y. Even if you could somehow work out that the episode of May 11 2014 was something like season 10, episode 87 there would not be an entry in the TVDB to fetch ( to get the date and guests say -> which you could see from a file named "Show.Name.2014.05.11.Guest.Name.mp4" ). Apart from the naming convention they are still valid video files in the database under a subdirectory that are not being returned by GetItems. Are items not listed unless they match the CollectionType specified for a CollectionFolder? If so, is there a collection type that will list all videos under all subdirectories? MrWebsmith 598
hello, whats the show you are working with as an example/test?.. cause the providers like tvdb do reformat and formula some of these news shows into an acceptable mb3 naming convention... see below for The Daily Show w Jon Stewart from the current season.. http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=71256&seasonid=529946&lid=7 so those would be s19eXXX and the guest star is listed along with date.. etcetc.. i dont currently have this show in MB, but i would assume that mb3 would process this show correctly if placed into that filename format. hope it helps! Luke 37272
why don't we step back and look at the problem you're having in one of our apps instead of trying to reverse engineer the api. it will be easier to diagnose. So basically start by describing the library setup, telling us what is missing where. some screenshots of both the app and file system would be great. thanks.
