Remote "Unable to connect to server..."

Currently am unable to connect remotely to Emby running on Windows 10 machine. I was able to do this 2 weeks ago and I had made no changes to my configuration and setup.

When attempting to connect I get "We're Unable to connect to the selected server right now..."

I can connect if I use the Remote WAN ip address and port

It makes no difference if I disable or enable my Windows defender firewall

Check port via canyouseeme and port is visible

Checked the pc security status and it's private

Any ideas?

Hi Luke,

So strange my mom says she can connect via her Roku remotely. But I still cannot connect with my android phone remotely either by cellular data or in a business using their wifi.

I went through all the steps per the guide as I mentioned in my original post. If I connect with the remote ip address from the dashboard it works

Port is not blocked. Can you see me works. I tried logging with Emby Connect and no luck either. I disabled firewall and it made no difference.

This began a couple of weeks ago, I am not remembering any conscience updates or software installations at that time.

Any ideas?

Sorry I am a little confused.  You say you can connect directly via wanip:port.  So is this a Connect issue?

Yes, if I make note of the WAN ip address and when out and about and use that address to connect I can do so... so to me that means the port and firewall are not blocking things.

And my mom reports she can connect remotely with her roku....

I am wondering if it's a Samsung thing....

But if trying to connect with emby connect or with the app it doesn't work

Hi guys

It was the Emby Android app on my Samsung J7 phone.  And the WAN address was fine, as I mentioned I could copy the WAN address in and connect.  So strange.

But I upgraded my phone to LG G7 ThinQ and the Emby app is working fine now

I suspect something on Emby client on that particular Samsung phone.

Its all working now, I feel guilty having taken your time...

Thanks!
