I am using the embed Android TV Emby app on my Sony x900e with no success on 4k. I am not transcoding, speed if fast enough, though it maxes out at 1080. I know the source is 4k and it plays 4k through a Shield TV. I'm hopeful that it isn't the limited processor in the Sony, but it very well could be.
