clchrd 0
Hi everyone, I'm having a problem when playing video files from outside my LAN using a raspberry pi as my server machine with a 4TB USB HDD. When playing 1080p Files it is buffering every few seconds. For remote access I have to use a portmapper (DS Lite). Now what confuses me is that inside my LAN I'm able to play 3 files simultaneously on 3 different devices without any performance issues whatsoever. Outside my LAN it comes to the described stuttering. What could be the bottleneck here? My internet connection has a possible upstream of 15 Mbit. The internet connection I'm using outside my LAN has a downstream of 30 Mbit. Could the portmapper be a limiting factor?
Luke 37250
It could be. When you play inside the lan on those three devices, what Emby apps are you using?
clchrd 0
1. The Kodi App on the raspberry pi which is connected to a TV and a AV-Receiver. 2. Browser Access via my windows machine (which I'm also using on remote access) 3. Emby App on my Android phone I still don't fully understand how the portmapping works though. Does the data actually has to go through the server of the portmapping service?

Luke 37250
It's really hard to say. Can we please go over an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. thanks !
