Handling Recorded Television...

Currently I have approximately 2200 episodes across 97 series. These take up about 4 TB of space on the network. We all have those series that we like but for one reason or another they get cancelled before a full season or after a season or two. I know some people simply delete the show immediately after watching. That is a good solution if your single and not sharing a system with other people.

Currently, I send the family a text every month including new shows and shows I will delete from the servers on the 15th of the month. If they object to the deletion of a show, it gets a reprieve. For ongoing shows, I plan on only keeping the last season unless it is a really loved show or we've purchased the discs for it. I am thinking of creating a local website that tells when different series will be added and when they will be deleted.

How do you handle it for your family?

LMAO... whats deleting like...

in all serious-ness, my tv library is currently at 527 series, almost 27K episodes and more than 17TB used on the TVserver (separate unraid box than movies/music)... so...yea.. i clearly have "solved" this problem another way... i horde it ALL!

i like your website plan.. simple..easy enough to maintain..
