Deuce911 10 Posted May 8, 2014 Share Posted May 8, 2014 First of all Awesome Product, now I have what may be a simple question, I have a file that is direct playing on the Surface that is 1080p but it is buffering from what I think is not enough bandwidth, a 720p file direct plays fine. So what I need to know is how can I get the system to transcode it so it requires less bandwidth and will play fine. I have tried setting the streaming options but it had no effect due to what I think is since it is directly playing the file it is ignoring those settings. Any help would be appreciated. 7illusions 1249 Posted May 8, 2014 Share Posted May 8, 2014 the streaming settings should override the directplay option. What if you change the streaming to 480p 1.5mbps, will it still directplay? 7illusions 1249 Posted May 8, 2014 Share Posted May 8, 2014 It shouldn't, unless I've made a mistake somewhere along the way. What about 4.5 - 7.2 Mbps and the lowest of the 720p settings?
