It never shows all the content (or metadata that Emby searches through as well) at the same time so that in-browser search could do anything useful. Alternative maybe would be for the shortcut to open a small search dropdown that would only take you to the search results page when acted upon, so if you hit it by accident it wouldn't jerk you to somewhere completely different.
