pcm2a 9
Synology DS216+, 8gb ram, internal 7200rpm drives. The playlist (m3u) and guide xml are both on the local file system. The guide is ~170 channels, 7 days of data and the xml file is around 20 mb. Refreshing the guide takes about an hour. The cpu remains about 5-15% at all times. Dell laptop, core i7, 4gb ram, internal 5400rpm drive. The same playlist and xml. Refreshing the guide takes 5-8 minutes. 2019-02-26 12:44:54.722 Info App: xmltv path: /volume1/storage/iptv/epgbeast.xml 2019-02-26 12:45:06.076 Info App: xmltv path: /volume1/storage/iptv/epgbeast.xml 2019-02-26 12:45:20.275 Info App: xmltv path: /volume1/storage/iptv/epgbeast.xml 2019-02-26 12:45:35.866 Info App: xmltv path: /volume1/storage/iptv/epgbeast.xml 2019-02-26 12:45:53.805 Info App: xmltv path: /volume1/storage/iptv/epgbeast.xml 2019-02-26 12:46:08.322 Info App: xmltv path: /volume1/storage/iptv/epgbeast.xml Any ideas why it is so slow on the Synology NAS? Luke 37233
Hi, although one topic is about a url and the other is a file, my response is the same as your other topic about this: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/70570-slow-guide-xmltv-import-when-using-a-url/&do=findComment&comment=707394 Thanks. pcm2a 9
Are you saying that the linux Emby server that I'm using on a test dell laptop already has the improvements and that's why it only takes 5 minutes? Where the Synology Emby server is not optimized so it takes an hour. Edited February 26, 2019 by pcm2a

pcm2a 9
Is there no way to determine what the bottleneck is in the Synology vs a laptop? Disk write speed, cpu power, etc.
Luke 37233
It is reading the data multiple times and once that is improved I don't think this will be much of an issue anymore. Thanks.
