EmbyCon: Unable to stop sync and flood requests

I'm a new Emby user and i'm trying full features with a month subscription to Premiere. My server is in a Synology NAS with version 4.0.2.0; i'm using EmbyCon for Kodi ver.1.7.20 as client and i discovered a big problem for my small network. I configure the add-on for kodi setting to 0 both of "Services" -> "Background image update interval (0 = disabled)" and "New content check interval (0 = disabled)"; this because i don't want to sync nothing with this client, only explore the library "realtime". After this settings, my server is flooded with requests from client, so as to overheat both the nas and the main router in one night, and without using the client! To stop this, i must disable the add-on in kodi. Here is part of the log from server that repeat continuosly:

in particular, 192.168.1.10 is my ip server on http port 9801, and 192.168.1.14 is the client with EmbyCon for Kodi.
I also found that for every user logged in, regardless of the device and despite not using Emby client for a long time, however, they appear in the administration panel as if they were present and therefore prevent the NAS to go into sleep mode even though there is actually no activity from users.
Is there anything to be configured in administration to solve these problems? Is there a way to disable synchronization with a client so as to simply explore the library?
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. My Kodi configuration is clean with default installation, Estuary default skin and only EmbyCon add-on installed from repository. Tested the same configuration with Kodi for Windows, LibreELEC and Android. I've just tried to set "New content check interval" to 300 (that is the maximum value); after this setting, the requests decrease a lot with a periodicity of about 5 minutes. So i suppose it ignores the 0 = disable. For now i disable the add-on when unused, because even setting it to 300 it prevents the NAS to go sleep.

Thank you so much! I'm trying this beta version 1.8.15 and works very very well. The problem seems solved. You save my NAS! :-)
