Luke 37179
the initials of Chinese Pinyin? Hi, what exactly does this mean? Can you explain more? thanks.
kent58958 0
Thanks for your reply. It means the first letter of chinese pinyin. For example, the chinese name of Batman is 蝙蝠侠, and the chinese pinyin of 蝙蝠侠 is bianfuxia, so the first letter is “b”.
Luke 37179
So just sorting on the Chinese characters is not enough?
ss1969 0
So just sorting on the Chinese characters is not enough? Sorry to say that, but current (latest version in Oct,2019) sort of Chinese titles is completely useless, it cannot be used to locate titles. In Chinese language, you can sort characters by two ways mostly: PinYin or strokes. Most of us use PinYin。 As explained above, "蝙蝠侠"(aka "Batman") can be translated into PinYin as "Bian Fu Xia", then the Chinese way to sort them is using "bianfuxia" alphabetical. here're some example document on this method: https://blog.csdn.net/lgx040605112/article/details/6042316 https://blog.csdn.net/yeshennet/article/details/52288410 https://github.com/lisposter/sort-by-pinyin or you can google for "Chinese Sort" for more infomation This feature is very important when you have to locate one in hundreds of movies. hisune 3
I have open sourced a tool that enables emby to support pinyin sorting of movies and TV series There is no problem with self-testing. If anyone think this tool can help you, you can click on a star. https://github.com/hisune/emby_pinyin
