It's not built to be something where you can just change the order based on preference. Thanks, the name 'display order' leads me to assume it only changes how it is displayed and not what file naming convention it expects. A name that reflects that it changes the expected file naming format seems more important as that needs user action to ensure files match what Emby is looking to see. Perhaps a remark in the file naming wiki page that changing this setting sets up certain expectations on the file name?
pwhodges 1539
But it's obvious if you look at the different orders in TVDB; they may have different season and episode numbers for the same episodes. So the season and episode numbers in the path and file name must match the TVDB number for the order you want in order for Emby to get the right metadata. Which order should I select to have the 'Parts Order (Netflix)' for Lupin (https://thetvdb.com/series/lupin)? TheTVDB mentions it should be usable as "Alternate Order" in API-connected systems but maybe Emby doesn't support that yet?

Correct, Alternate Order still has not been added yet.
McMovies 6
bumping this thread to check if we have any updates. i know these are edge cases but is there any way to display this in "netflix" order for example - https://thetvdb.com/series/la-casa-de-papel#seasons-alternate not only the oder , here we have diffrent number of episodes as well. Does anyone figured out any workaround on this ? Edited January 4 by McMovies
pwhodges 1539
I imagine that the devs have no series that this is important for, given the long time we've been waqiting. Paul

Lupin (https://thetvdb.com/series/lupin#seasons) is also such example.
