Quickest way to import Plex watched state into Emby

I run the same library on Emby as I do on Plex, I like to use both for different reasons, however I would like to "sync" my Plex and Emby watch/up next states. I tried Trakt but could never get it to work, is this possible to achieve? If so how?

Trakt is the best way, actually the only way that I know of.

I use it all of the time between Plex and Emby and even Kodi during the summer.

How are you using Trakt? Could you give me a brief method of how you managed to link it up and get it to send data between Emby/Plex > Trakt and Trakt > Emby/Plex. Doesn't seem to work for me even though its "linked"

My Trakt settings in Plex;

 

There is really nothing special about the settings.

After you save the settings. Open Track in Plex (on the server).

Choose Sync, then scroll top the bottom and select Push All to Track.tv.

This will push your current Shows, Movies and watch states to your Trakt account.

In Emby you just have to make sure you are connected to the same Trakt account. You can also exclude libraries. Home videos for example.

Set up a Trakt Scheduled task to Pull Playstates from Trakt.tv.

I scheduled it to run every hour. Run it manually the first time.

 

You don't have to sync the Emby library to Trakt if you're using the same libraries as you are in Plex.

FYI, for Plex I use this now: https://github.com/XanderStrike/goplaxt. It's a bit more reliable for me and is easier to install. Plex will be retiring the old plugins eventually anyways.

Plaxt is only for Plex Pass subscribers though.

It will be a while before the server side plugins die out.

I suspect Plex may have some other type of Trakt client by then. There's no way to know with those guys though.

Trakt is also for VIP subscribers. Plex pass is not enough.

How do you run this manually I created trakt account out in the pin Emby but nothing seems to happen ?

I've been using this docker stack. Works great. No need for VIP on Trakt either. https://github.com/Taxel/PlexTraktSync
