chinswain 10
Hi all, After upgrading to the second last Synology update I can no longer login via IP or quick connect: Tried rebooting and upgrading to the new update released today but no change. The only non standard change is moving the cache and data to a high speed SSD USB drive (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/48086-performance-improvements/?p=463033) Any idea where to start troubleshooting this? Device is a DS918+ with latest DSM, used for TV Shows, Movies, Music and live TV via HomeRunHD (And new Emby guide). Logs sent: sendlogs_DS918_synology_apollolake_918+_20190222T230505UTC.tgz Thanks Alan

Luke 37116
Ok, I'm not quite sure what the issue is there, but since you're on the beta channel there's one thing i can try adding for the next beta update. thanks.

solabc16 379
Hello @@chinswain The 4.1.0.14 beta is now available, can you let us know if the problem still exists with this latest update. At which point did you make the cache and data changes? Had you managed to successfully upgrade after making this change, before you ran into this issue? chinswain 10
Hi @solabc16 No change unfortunately, I applied every beta update shortly after release, worked fine until an update around 20th of feb. If I reinstall, are there any files I can backup and restore so I don't have to configure the libraries and TV again? Thanks Alan
Luke 37116
Did you end up reinstalling?
chinswain 10
Hi Luke not yet - trying to work out the best approach to reduce setup after! Thanks Alan
solabc16 379
Hello @@chinswain My question above was trying to ascertain whether there was any relation between moving the files to the USB device and this problem starting. i.e. did it break after the first update after making this change? Updates will of course preserve the existing configuration, so if this is being caused by a configuration issue, there isn't going to be a 'magic' fix. Similarly, anything we do to try and preserve your configuration, is likely to reintroduce the problem - as the binaries and system elements will be identical and cannot be the cause of this issue. I'm happy to take a look directly at your system, so please feel free to PM with details. Best - James
