deme74 2
Hi, I ran into a problem since I installed a certificate and set the secure connection mode to "preferred". I can access the server via browser or app by using https://servername.domain:8920 (manually added in apps) but I try to use Emby Connect I'm getting a message that it cannot connect. The behavior is consistent across Chrome, Emby Theater, iOS and Android. I'n not using a reverse proxy, I just opened the ports in my firewall. I'm running out of ideas so any help would be appreciated. Thanks
ebr 14959
Hi. Did you configure the server to report that domain name as its external domain?

Solution ebr 14959 Posted February 19, 2019 Solution Share Posted February 19, 2019 So, when you look at the dashboard, what it reports as its WAN address is exactly the same as what you are manually entering when it works?
deme74 2
I'm using the name not the ip address. However, you pointed me in the right direction as I saw there that it was just the domain name without the host so of course it couldn't connect. I modified it and now it's OK. Should have seen it earlier, sorry, I'm new here . The external domain setting is a little misleading, it should be clear that the FQDN is required not just the domain name. Perhaps you can modify the description in a future release. Thanks for the help, it's the kind of thing that made me want to leave Plex. Now, if you'd only fix your problems with Samsung to get a worldwide release...
