TylerV76 84
so i searched for and tried to find but can't figure out why i don't see any movie trailers for my movies on the server? shouldn't when you click on a movie and get the description and actors there be a trailer button so i can preview the movie? i get it when i do it on windows and on my samsung TV? Gotta see if I can remember this correctly since its been awhile. YouTube updated their app awhile back and stopped allowing external links to open the app. That broke trailers from Emby. The only way to get trailers working is either download your own and store them in the movie folder or side load a very old version of the YouTube app. I use "Media Companion" and just download my own trailers which is substantially better imo. Edit: Heres the instructions if you want to install the old app. Ok Ive got trailers working by using the old Youtube app. Heres what I did. If you want to sideload it then heres the apk you need - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube-for-android-tv/youtube-for-android-tv-1-3-11-release/youtube-android-tv-1-3-11-android-apk-download/ Once installed proceed to step 6. 1. On Fire TV turn on "unknown sources" in settings>developer options. 2. On the fire tv download the "Downloader" app 3. Download the old Youtube apk from here - https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/youtube-for-android-tv/youtube-for-android-tv-1-3-11-release/youtube-android-tv-1-3-11-android-apk-download/ You will have to store that on a webpage somewhere like a web server or possibly a cloud service. You will need a direct browser link to the file though. 4. Open downloader and point the address bar wherever you stored the apk. It will download the file once it finds it from the link 5. Install the app 6. Go back to emby and click on something with a trailer option like a movie. 7. Click trailer and select the youtube app, then scoll down and click "always". It will open youtube and play the trailer. To get back to your movie just hit the back button on the fire remote twice (once will go to the home screen of youtube, once more brings you back to emby where you selected trailer). I dont know if the fire tv will autoupdate the youtube app since its not installed from the appstore but hopefully it wont. Luke 37151
Correct - emby server supports local trailer video files, as well as youtube trailers, however not all apps are capable of playing the youtube trailers at this time. That is why you may not be seeing a trailer button.
ebr 14944
It will work in the Google version but Amazon and YouTube don't really get along all that well...
dcol 165
Now that YouTube is available for Fire TV, maybe you can put back the feature

ebr 14944
While the app is back on the platform, neither of the published methods for launching it work unfortunately.
dcol 165
Maybe Amazon's way to still limit YouTube on its platform. Google did the same and only put some devices on their store for the Prime app. Tit for Tat.
