cd01 8
Hi, I've discovered that when i shuffle videos in the Theater client on windows 10 while in fullscreen mode sometimes when it switches to the next video the background of the client appears above the video, but you can still see the video "faded" through the background, it's like it's transparent and it's above the video. This appears to only happen in fullscreen mode when one video switches to the next. If playback is done in non fullscreen mode this does not happen. Need logs or more information? I'm pretty sure you can easily recreate the issue yourselfs, as i've tried with 3 different win10 machines all 1809 and they all have the same issues, with multiple different video sources. Thank you!
Luke 37178
Hi there, can you show a screenshot to demonstrate the issue? Thanks !
cd01 8
Hi there, can you show a screenshot to demonstrate the issue? Thanks ! Better yet i'll give you a video as the bug is very easy to replicate Fullscreen on a video playlist, then just next next next until it happens... takes around 10-15 videos usually.. Happens at 0:18 in this recording: You can see the background of the client is infront of the video and the video looks faded Thanks! Luke 37178
Thanks. Can you cause this to happen in the web app?
cd01 8
Thanks. Can you cause this to happen in the web app? It does not happen through the web interface, I've tried to make it happen on the android client but it doesn't happen there either. I can only make it happen via the windows theater client. cd01 8
upon further testing it appears to happen in non fullscreen mode as well, just a little more rarely.
Luke 37178
Great, thanks for the info. Is this the Windows 10 app installed from the store, or did you install from our website?
cd01 8
Great, thanks for the info. Is this the Windows 10 app installed from the store, or did you install from our website? Installed from the store, i didn't realize that the version from the store would be different from the version on your page, i now installed the version from your page and i will do some testing if it still occurs in this version. cd01 8
After some quick testing... Downloaded version : https://emby.media/emby-theater.html does almost the same... instead of becoming a "faded background" the screen becomes completely black when the bug is triggered. Downloaded version gives video options, i set hw acceleration to none to try it out, no difference. I tried a different theme to see if it was a theme issue but same thing occurs. I almost 100% confirm that the bug is triggered when video is switching from a 16:9 to 4:3 or from 4:3 to 16:9 aspect ratio. I noticed the downloaded version of Emby Theater adds transitional effects to the gui, this is horrible! The transitions are slow and low fps, they look bad and makes browsing the interface a lot worse, the version from the store has no transitional effects which is much better imo. * bolded the part which is probably most interesting to you. cd01 8
Not sure if you've patched something but this does suddenly not occur anymore so appears to be fixed? Could be windows update that solved it if you guys didn't change anything, but both my htpc machines that have different hardware had the same problem and they both do not have the problem anymore so someone did something, kudos.
