inforbaix 5
Hi, I have installed Version 3.0.5233.40306 and every time when I start or restart the server, a new notification appears with the next text: A new version of Media Browser Server is available for download. a minute ago Please see mediabrowser3.com for details In section "server information" of Dashboard I see MB are updated. I need to update my version of server or is a bug of software? Thanks. Edited May 5, 2014 by inforbaix

Happy2Play 8361
I have systems at two different locations, one set to "Official" and the other "Beta" and both react the same running as a service. Launching by MBS Icon does not have the same behavior. Edited May 5, 2014 by Happy2Play

FrostByte 5062
Just noticed the same here after a reboot. Running as a service update level set to beta and version 3.0.5233.40306
BIGGRIMTIM 1
Same here. Running as a service update level is Official Release and Version 3.0.5233.40306.
moviefan 184
You know what - i think the notification is from when the update was discovered earlier. You may just not have seen it yet. Since users running the service don't get automatic updates, we send out notifications anytime an update is discovered in order to nudge you to upgrade. I am not sure this is correct. At least, I have definitely "marked read" the upgrade notification first. Then I shutdown the service, and perform the upgrade. Restart the service. When I log back into the console it shows that there is an upgrade notifcation again that hasnt been read. You can see here the same notification for the same upgrade is listed twice... moviefan 184
Ditto. Noticed this for a while but not enough of an annoyance to post about.
FrostByte 5062
Luke, it may be sending us the message after the service restarts but it's not clearing the flag afterward. I just stopped and restarted the service 3 time and it keeps sending me the same message even if I marked it read.

Luke 37274
Well yea, it currently sends that message anytime the version is checked and there's an upgrade available. And one of the times that a version check takes place is startup.
FrostByte 5062
There is no upgrade available though, at least not for us Beta testers. It would have to check what level (beta, official, alpha, etc) and version your running and cross check that with what version is available for your level. Luke 37274
Well that's what it does. Just need to hunt down why it's different for service users.

Luke 37274
Ok. I'm going to have to add some logging, so I'm going to need someone running dev. If we don't get a volunteer that's fine, i'll add it for the beta.
