gunemalli 1
Hi Folks, I'm looking up this information as I've been tasked to setup a CCTV archive server for a client. What I'm hoping to setup is to download the CCTV footage to this server, transcode the footage to h265 1080p/720p using Emby and delete the source files. Is this something that's possible with Emby? Source files would be either 1080p/720p h264 files. My target is to reduce the file size to ~300MB for an hour of footage. Appreciate any feedback that can be given. gunemalli 1
Take a look at Blue Iris, as it can do all of that for you. Hi CBers, Thanks for the quick response. Unfortunately the cameras are not IP Cams. They need a DVR to work. Most are Hikvision branded CCTV/DVR units and there's one/two units which are very old. So the only way i can get the footage is by downloading them via their own software. So Blue Iris is a no go for my needs from the quick info i could see from their website. I'll give it shot alter this week and see.
clarkss12 296
I know your cams are NOT IP cams, but did you ask the question on the IPcam website? https://ipcamtalk.com/forums/hikvision.5/
Spaceboy 2505
I haven’t been able to get my cctv camera to display properly inside emby due to transcoding. Asked a month or so ago, still no response https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/68197-Emby-with-home-cameras Edited February 11, 2019 by Spaceboy
