Angus Black 4
Does renaming a library always cause Emby to redo a library scan from scratch? I just renamed "TV Shows" to "TV SHOWS" and lost everything. The liobrary is being rebuilt as if it never existed. It's been running for 3 hours with about 20% done. 88 shows, 1853 episodes. The gauge started at 90% and 3 hours later it's showing 91% but it's really about 20% through my shows. I don't have much faith in the gauge. I am now saving metadata to .nfo files. Will this speed up the scanning process if it happens again?
Luke 37254
Will this speed up the scanning process if it happens again? Hi, yes this will. And as far as renaming the library causing this type of behavior, it's something we resolve in a future update. thanks.
Angus Black 4
Thanks Luke. Happy to hear it's being resolved. Otherwise there should be a warning.
Angus Black 4
I have the server saving metadata to an .nfo and saving artwork into media folders. Some artwork is downloaded but some isn't. For the files that aren't downloaded there is a https://www.thetvdb.com in the ,art. section of the .nfo file. Does Emby first write the link to the .nfo, go back and download the artwork then rewrite the <art> section? Been reading the Wiki but didn't find the answer. Luke 37254
Does Emby first write the link to the .nfo, go back and download the artwork then rewrite the section? Yes for the first two parts, although the nfo may not get updated immediately. I would check your image download settings for each of your libraries. This allows you to control what kinds of images get downloaded, how many, and when they get downloaded. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. Angus Black 4
I have Download images in advance unchecked. Image selection in Fetcher settings is left at the default. It seems to be working correctly. Was just curious about the way it worked. Thanks for answering. I assume 4 guys use the Luke login or you never sleep.
