3D Movies: How To?

Recently came across some 3D Blu Rays my dad had in the basement.

 

What glasses do I need? Is this rather cheap? 

 

Consider me clueless when it comes to 3D.

No idea, but I would imagine unless you also found a 3d bluray player and 3d TV down there 3d glasses wouldn't help much ?

At the moment, configuring Samsung GearVR to work with Emby in some sort of way.

Glasses are tied to monitor (tv, projector, etc), not BD. There are two main types of 3D glasses: active and passive. Active 3D quickly alternates left and right eyes for the whole screen at full resolution. Active 3D glasses cost more, weigh more, and need batteries. Passive 3D uses polarization so that half the pixels go to each eye. Polarized glasses are cheaper and don't need batteries. Check with the owner's manual for your monitor as to which glasses you need.
