Hauppauge setup

I'm trying to get live TV via an Happauge WinTV-quadHD tuner working and not having any luck (Win 7 SP1 computer).  The tuner does work with Plex.

Emby sees the card and I can setup the channel mappings and the guide info is pulled.  When I try to view live tv (via browser) I get the spinning circle but then get the error message

"Playback Error
No compatible streams are currently available. Please try again later or contact your system administrator for details."

I've tried stopping Plex but it still will not play.

I figure I've missed something in the setup but I'm not sure where to start looking.

Attached are the latest embyserver.txt and ffmpeg-transcode...txt log files.  I can provide any other info that may be needed.

When you try to start playback, do you see temp files in the server's transcoding temp directory?

I looked in C:\Users\HTPC\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\transcoding-temp\ and did not see any files.

Did you disable buffer mode in WinTV if yes reset back 30min

This fixed it!!!  I hadn't changed it in WinTV but it was set to 0 (at least I don't remember changing it...).  I changed to 30 and Live TV started working.

Thanks Luke and SHSPVR for the help!

That's very interesting, what does buffer mode do? Is it on by default?

Write file for WinTV LiveTV Mode for pause or rewind or fast-forward

That what emby hauppauge plugin relay on in stead of writing one direct recording file

Now that I think back, I think I did change it from 30 minutes to zero when I first started setting things up.  I was having some performance problems with the computer and thought it might be disk IO.  I ended up upgrading the CPU and memory (it was an older, home built PC).

When using Plex, Live TV was using a lot of CPU, Emby seems to use a lot less.

Hello, I have a Hauppauge 2250 I'm having trouble getting to work. Would like to experiment with getting OTA to work with this, which is kind of exciting!

Do I need WinTV? I currently have an old install of version 7. Server is on Win7, same machine as hosts WMC (which does see and use the tuner) if that matters.

Might be able to find the disc, but don't know if it's still around. Do I need a newer version?

Just keeps not detecting this tuner in Emby :(

Thank you for the info. Will see if I can dig up the disc and hope that it updates by reading that.

only ver 7 to 8 will update not 8.5

But if you ver 8 Key then get ver 8.5 that will work
