neptunepic 11
Hello, I'm running beta 4.1.0.2. I cannot connect remotely to the Emby server. Allow remote connections is enabled with default ports. Firewall rules are correct. Port forwarding has been tested and works correctly using CanYouSeeMe.org. Server log attached. Please help! embyserver.txt
Luke 37254
Hi there, can you please describe the problem in more detail? What exactly are you doing?
neptunepic 11
I'm trying to access the server from my phone. Won't connect. Trying to access the server from my office. No dice. Both of these have worked previously and no changes have been made to the server other than updating to new betas as they are released. What other info do you need? neptunepic 11
I'm using the iOS app on phone and chrome browser on computer. Regular port 8096
Luke 37254
And within those apps, how are you trying to connect?
neptunepic 11
Perhaps I'm not understanding what you're asking. I'm using the native emby iOS app. When I load the app and try to access the server, it says it can't reach the server. This happens via cellular or wifi. Luke 37254
How are you trying to access the server? There are multiple ways that's why i've been trying to find out exactly what steps you took within the app. Can you also try adding a new server by entering the address manually? thanks. neptunepic 11
I confirmed the external IP via my router admin panel.
Luke 37254
Is this over http or https?
neptunepic 11
http over port 8096. I think I've found the source of the issue. I use a VPN and for some reason remote access to Emby stopped working with the VPN running. If I disable the VPN it works again. Kinda weird because it was working fine before with the VPN. Is there any special instruction for remote access with a VPN?
Luke 37254
You probably need to make sure the ports are open in the VPN, no?

Luke 37254
Hi there @@JERRY1, I would suggest checking out our Connection Troubleshooter. Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed, and which ones do not. Thanks !
