Wrong running time in movie.xml files

Hello,

Quite a few of my movies display silly running times like 5 mins, 60 mins or whatever but definitely NOT the correct running time of the movie!

Today I have done a test by deleting the movie.xml file from one of my movies that has the wrong running time (American Beauty - displaying a running time of 5 minutes), and then refreshing the metadata from the MB3 Server metadata manager and it recreated the movie.xml fle with exactly the same wrong running time of 5 minutes

I have attached the server log created during the refresh. For some strange reason the movie.xml file refuses to attach to this post (says the upload failed) so I will copy and paste it's contents at the bottom of the post...

The running time of this movie is detailed as 122 minutes on both IMDb and themoviedb.org

I am running server version 3.0.5231.40980

I have a number of movies showing the problem. All my movies are in ISO format. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Jeff

we get the running time by probing it. and we still have some work to do there with iso's.

OK I see. If I was unpacking my ISOs to DVD folders would that sort it or would the menus and special features still throw things out?

What I'm wondering is why it would show up wrong when the movie.xml file actually has the correct runtime in it.  I have an ISO with a movie.xml of 102 minutes in the <runtime> field.  Why would it show 12 minutes on screen?  Is there not a way to default to the xml rather than try to verify the information itself in Mediabrowser (that's what I'm assuming it is doing).

Other than this one glitch, I think you guys are doing fantastic. I've got the system humming along perfectly.  Thanks much.  BTW, I am still using MBC.

Thanks much

Because, in order for the server to operate properly, it needs to know the actual run time.  If it is off then something is off with the file and it probably isn't going to be able to stream properly.  MBC may still play it properly only because it is capable of playing full disc rips but, the value we show there is going to be more accurate in most of the other clients.
