The xml file is on my nas, if the file is on dropbox or other cloud shall it be faster than or does that make no difference? My scan usually takes about 2-3 mins, could the connection to your NAS be holding it up? Or if the directory you're holding the xml file in is set to automatically sync with a cloud service, maybe that service is also using the file at the same time the moment it discovers it's changed and keeps interrupting as Emby is updating it?
