Why I can not disable transcoding globally on server? Why this is not possible feature in server settings?

We don't currently have a single global setting, but you can do it for each user individually if you like. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !

@@Luke, would you like to help me with disable transcoding for each user (path of option where I can find it)? I would like to play raw files without transcoding process. I have version: 4.0.0.0 Beta.

Try exploring the features of the server and learning where things are :)

go to your dashboard>users

select a user and change the options below - repeat for each of your users

Dont forget to scroll down for the save button

Note the warning about playback failures that you are likely to run into!

Its you client devices that dictate what will and wont play - not the EMBY server - it goes on info provided by the client app - and as you have restricted the option to transcode - hence why you are probably seeing errors

If your client device cant play HVEC - remember there are lots of variations on how HVEC is encoded

As you have provided no info on what your setup is, what you are playing and the client you are trying with - it next to impossible to say why.

Attach a server log, ffmpeg log if you have one for the time you tested this. Also try turning back on the transcoding and see if the client then gets a stream it can play etc and provide the logs for that etc

More info the better

@@PenkethBoy, I tried this options but I see errors about wrong compatibility of transmission. Why Emby can not stream raw 2160p HEVC .mkv files?

Emby can play 2160p raw hevc mkv - if the device you're playing on supports that. Does it? What device and Emby app are you looking to play with?

Should I untick all four options ? or just the last three regarding transcoding?

Based on the labels and help text, which options do you think you should uncheck?

Well I think the audio and video transcoding. I Don t understand the first one and the last one.

If I unstick the first I doest send anything correct?

If you uncheck the first one, you will not be able to play at all. Is that not obvious?

Yes sorry I don't understand why this option exist. It is like switching off everything.

ok .For the 4th How I know what require encoding?

Allow the server to remux the file (change containers)

It all depends on the client/app native supports.

I am not familiar with the LG app but can assume models will vary but should be fairly standard for container/codecs/subtitle support listed in your owners manual.
