(locking old threads on a forum that users contribute guides and support to is a silly policy btw) So to close this off. Kodi has hobbled path substitution in the next version and as such this technique likely wont ever work again. Not going to continue wasting effort documenting here but if anyone wants to work on it with me (or see the eventual solution) catch me on LibreELEC IRC.
