AgileHumor 123
Will Emby App's ever support the content searching of Android TV or Fire TV? Or, ideally, the media "watch show/movie" voice command support? Fire TV CDF Requirements: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/catalog/getting-started-universal-search-and-browse.htmlNote - Requires catalog ingestion to cloud per: https://developer.amazon.com/docs/catalog/getting-started-catalog-ingestion.html Android TV Content Provider Requirements: https://developer.android.com/training/tv/discovery/searchableNote - May be limited per "Warning: These solutions are for partners only. If you would like to use these solutions, you will need to contact the Actions on Google support to request access.": https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/media My guess is the while there might be some progress in "universal searching"...it appears like the key commands like "Watch Sienfeld" will not be possible with Emby because it's a "per user" catalog...and most Android TV and Fire TV seem to be more about content providers with a fixed "all content" catalog stored in the cloud. To do that, It would require every Emby server to have the complexity of their own skill/aws developer account. Thoughts? PS - It would also be nice to control via Fire TV via Alexa using commands like "Alexa, scroll up", or "Alexa, select". These are the current list of apps that support this feature: http://www.aftvnews.com/list-of-amazon-fire-tv-apps-that-support-in-app-alexa-voice-control/ Poked around on Amazon Developer site, could not find anything public for these API's. Like the Google/Android TV limited partners, this might require special approvals...but from Amazon. Also, don't see Plex there yet. Luke 37181
The current beta version of the app has added support for Google assistant.
AgileHumor 123
Another anomoly in Emby for Fire TV, in the core media controls (play/pause/stop), only "Alexa, play" works. Saying "Alexa, pause" or "Alexa, stop" has no effect to currently playing media. Alexa appears to understand it, it's that the Emby app doesn't act on it. I wonder if intents need to be defined per this doc, else it won't know media is currently playing (to allow a pause or stop): https://developer.amazon.com/docs/catalog/integrate-with-launcher.html#building-and-sending-an-intent Edited December 14, 2018 by AgileHumor
