alturismo 37
may a note, moving movies to another place in background also likes to kill collections ... same issue as before, collections incomplete or gone, no way to add them again, manual trigger just does nothing. historie, i wiped the database to test if nfo files fixes the issue here. so i added the "nfo" option in movies after wiping, most nfo files where created and collections wich where messy where working, Rest could be manually added etc ... so was quite ok ... Now, i wanted to clean up my files with multi formats to bring them physically together. background i use unraid as NAS, my share is for example /mnt/Media/HDDVDR/ the movies and nfo files where now cluttered over the disks behind, sample /mnt/disk1/Media/HDDVDR/moviefolder/movie-1080p.mkv /mnt/disk1/Media/HDDVDR/moviefolder/movie-1080p.nfo /mnt/disk3/Media/HDDVDR/moviefolder/movie-2160p.mkv /mnt/disk3/Media/HDDVDR/moviefolder/movie-2160p.nfo or the worse scenario ... wich is now again causing issues, 2nd version does NOT have an nfo ... /mnt/disk1/Media/HDDVDR/moviefolder/movie-1080p.mkv /mnt/disk1/Media/HDDVDR/moviefolder/movie-1080p.nfo /mnt/disk3/Media/HDDVDR/moviefolder/movie-2160p.mkv i did now move the files physically together so 1 Movie is physically together on 1 disk, sample ALL version and files from a movie are together in /mnt/disk3/moviename/**** what happened now, by touching those files some more (still missing) nfo files where created so overall almost all movies (multi versions 1080p AND 2160p) now had theit own nfo file, also they are showing up as new ... i thought great ... nevermind. and now exactly those movies are completey broke again for collections ..., i did no renaming, no nothing ... as the NEW nfos where created in my cache drive i can easily see where to look for ... and it is like before i wiped the database ... just a real weird database issue .... and NOTHING can sort it here, rescan complete library, removing collections and let the recreate (after wiping /data/collecions) ... so its still no fire and forget. running currently the 4105 beta as note, i removed now ALL nfo files again and let collections again recreate, same result .... the only way probably would be again to wipe the database from emby ... but i really dont like todo this again just wanted to leave a note, logs etc are useless cause its the same as logs already provided here, its definately some database weirdness in emby when using multiformats ... naming files, folders are all good, working, moving or nfos are the point in some weird way ... attachements, screenshot from my cache drive, here are the multi format movies wich where recognized as new and new nfos where created after moving them in background ... screenshow from the New records show them as new items .... as u then see in the Ex Collection exactly this movie is not there anymore, same in the MI Collection ... there only one left (funny, the one wich is left was the one wich didnt work before the database reset ) ALL those movies are here since a long time, ALL those movie where NOT touched in foldername or filename ... NOTHING changed. all i did was moving them in background and now even when i manually add any of the missing movies to the collection nothing happens ... alturismo 37
ok, did delete the library.db and voila, back again ... so in the end, moving (even in background), correct identifying, multi formats changes etc etc ... is breaking the database for collections in some cases. no changes now here and they are back in collections. Carlo 4330
You probably didn't need to delete your library.db, but now that you have and did the re scan is everything now working properly again for your collections?
alturismo 37
yes its working, but also last time there was no way to rescan properly or add manually ... im pretty sure i could reproduce it if i start moving in the background again but i leave as is now
Luke 37065
im pretty sure i could reproduce it if i start moving in the background again but i leave as is now yes of course you can create the problem again. but if you update the playlist or collection xml files to fix the paths afterwards, then run a library scan, you should be fine. does that make sense? @@cayars can we expand the wiki article to cover this? thanks. JUST deleting the library and start from scratch fixes it ...
Luke 37065
The path to the movie has changed, therefore the playlist/collection xml needs to be updated. forget about the database, just follow the instructions in the wiki. Thanks.
