Basically download from github, unzip into a new folder, called what you like, and carry on from my instructions in previous post.

scottpro 4
When I first launched it the black window appeared for about 5 seconds and then the “Sign in” screen appeared. After signing in it loads and runs with no delays. Edited December 21, 2018 by scottpro

After signing in it loads and runs with no delays. Forgot about the HDMI driver install. It prompted me for the install and I selected “yes”. I also uninstalled ET 3.0.5 from my Windows 7 PC prior to running any manually downloaded versions. Ran the Dropbox version as a portable.
Darktree 2
Hi, Works okay for me, slow on first start, get 10 seconds of black screen and then works okay. Next launch is normal startup time. Thanks

karambit27 1
This is happening for me with any version it seems. I tried extracting various versions to a folder and running it direct without installing as well as installing the latest version. I get nothing but a black screen. I've installed all Windows updates and updated the Nvidia driver to the latest. I've also rebooted. It was working fine with an older version but when I updated to 3.0.6 now all I get is a black box with any version it seems. I made sure aero is running. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a few times. I tried to enable dev tools as shown in a previous post in this thread and it doesn't appear to be doing anything when I start the app. When I close the console below it is just a black screen and I have to close form the task bar. 2019-01-23 21:40:34.237 Info Main: Application path: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\Emby.Theater.exe 2019-01-23 21:40:34.244 Info Main: Emby Command line: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\Emby.Theater.exe Operating system: Microsoft Windows NT 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: False User Interactive: True Processor count: 4 Program data path: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater Application directory: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system 2019-01-23 21:40:34.349 Info Main: C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\x64\electron\electron.exe "C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\electronapp" "C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\data\electron" "C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\cec\cec-client.x64.exe" "C:\Users\xxxx\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Theater\system\x64\mpv\mpv.exe" 2019-01-23 21:40:37.247 Info App: Application version: 3.0.6.0 2019-01-23 21:40:37.276 Info App: Application configuration: {"EnableDebugLevelLogging":false,"EnableAutoUpdate":true,"LogFileRetentionDays":3,"RunAtStartup":false,"IsStartupWizardCompleted":false} 2019-01-23 21:40:37.277 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Model, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null 2019-01-23 21:40:37.277 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Common, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null 2019-01-23 21:40:37.277 Info App: Loading Emby.Theater, Version=3.0.6.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null 2019-01-23 21:40:52.981 Info App: Core startup complete 2019-01-23 21:40:55.981 Info TaskManager: StartupTrigger fired for task: Check for application updates 2019-01-23 21:40:55.981 Info TaskManager: Queueing task SystemUpdateTask 2019-01-23 21:40:55.984 Info TaskManager: Executing Check for application updates 2019-01-23 21:40:56.002 Info HttpClient: HttpClientManager GET: https://api.github.com/repos/MediaBrowser/Emby.Theater.Windows/releases 2019-01-23 21:40:56.581 Info TaskManager: Check for application updates Completed after 0 minute(s) and 0 seconds 2019-01-23 21:40:56.596 Info TaskManager: ExecuteQueuedTasks 2019-01-23 21:42:14.470 Info App: Disposing ApplicationHost 2019-01-23 21:42:14.471 Info App: Disposing TaskManager 2019-01-23 21:42:14.472 Info App: Disposing InstallationManager 2019-01-23 21:42:14.472 Info Main: Releasing mutex 2019-01-23 21:42:14.472 Info Main: Mutex released 2019-01-23 21:42:14.472 Info Main: Mutex released
Luke 37096
This is windows 7. Have you made sure that Windows 7 Aero is both enabled and running, and hasn't crashed? The app depends on this for transparency features. Thanks.
karambit27 1
Aero was enabled and running. I restarted the Desktop Window Manager service and now it seems be working. I'm not sure what happened or why a reboot didn't do the same thing as restarting the service.
