Hi, I am using flussonic to transcode live streams and it will direct play to roku via emby

but it constantly keeps loading getting loading message in roku.

 This is my current setting

 vb=1500k hw=nvenc ab=copy size=1920x720 aspect=16:9

Which settings should i use to minimise the the loading message in emby?

Hi, we recommend default settings. How are you getting flussonic content into Emby?

 size=1920x720 aspect=16:9

shouldn't size be relative to aspect? size=1920x1080 or size=1280x720?

Hi ,  i am using the IPTV plugin in emby and add the m3u8 link to that from flussonic

Use this app and play the item. During playback press DOWN on the remote. It will bring up the OSD. Under the Playback Position Bar are buttons. One of these buttons looks like a graphic equalizer with 3 sliders. Click that button. It will open the Playback menu. Choose the resolution/quality. This will allow you to try to pick something that works for you and does less buffering/retrieving. Once you drop the bitrate below what can direct play it will switch to transcoding and use the resolution choice you made. This will allow you to custom tailor the transcoding that goes on to the resolution and bitrate you desire. Try this and let us know if this helps fix the problem. Thanks.

vb=1500k hw=nvenc ab=copy size=1920x720 aspect=16:9

Are you sure in your flussonic settings that 1920x720 is correct? That isnt a 16:9 aspect ratio and that is also likely why the Roku is struggling to render it. It might not have anything to do with throughput. It might be a scaling issue and the Roku is struggling keeping up with the framerate. What is the framerate flussonic is able to transcode at? It might be below what the framerate of the media is and the Roku has no choice but to struggle.

In any case, the app has the resolution/quality choices in the OSD playback menu for this exact reason. Emby server can act as a buffer and transcode too. To rectify issues when you just want to play something. When it just has to work that in-app OSD playback menu is the answer.

 Thank you very much for the information below! Certainly very informative!

I will try to test with the beta and let you know how it gets on !

There is an option to add frame rate in transcoding for example : vb=1500k hw=nvenc ab=copy size=1920x720 aspect=16:9 fps=25 <<<<

I think you are correct about 1920x720 and maybe that is why its struggling! 1920x1080 seems correct
