jezzbennett 1
All, Apologies if this is a simple issue to resolve. I have been using Emby server for a long while, but recently the devices that I have in my LAN (Roku 3, Samsung TV, etc.) are not able to find the Emby Server. To me, it is because there is no local IP address (or whatever the terminology is). Historically, I would be able to see a 'Local Access' address on the Server homepage, but now all I see is a Remote (WAN) Access address (attached image). I have checked my firewalls, but they seem to be 'open' for Emby. Any thoghts? Thanks in advance. EODCrafter 180
Win + R, type cmd, press enter, type ipconfig, at command prompt, That will give you your local IP. Linux output Equiv..... steve@steve:~$ ifconfig docker0: flags=4099<UP,BROADCAST,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 172.17.0.1 netmask 255.255.0.0 broadcast 172.17.255.255 inet6 fe80::42:c6ff:fed5:b64b prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link> ether 02:42:c6:d5:b6:4b txqueuelen 0 (Ethernet) RX packets 21027 bytes 1260855 (1.2 MB) RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0 TX packets 32630 bytes 75593763 (75.5 MB) TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0 eno1: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1496 inet 192.168.1.114 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255 inet6 fe80::12f:7981:8aab:6cd0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link> ether 6c:0b:84:a7:52:85 txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet) RX packets 45099858 bytes 63782920789 (63.7 GB) RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0 TX packets 16900088 bytes 3126589101 (3.1 GB) TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0 device interrupt 20 memory 0xf7100000-f7120000 In this case the 192.168.1.114 is my "Local IP" Edited November 8, 2018 by EODCrafter
jezzbennett 1
Thanks EODCrafter - unfortunately this doesn't work at all. The Roku box doesn't recognise the IP address. Is there any reason why Emby Server doesn't show the IP address any longer? I have re-installed Emby Server tonight and still the IP address doesn't show on the dashboard. Thanks again. jezzbennett 1
Luke, Thanks for responding. No I haven't - as mentioned, I have done a completely new re-install so it is 'plain vanilla' and I still have the same issue. The browser address is: The 'Local Access' address on the Server homepage is still missing. Thanks for your help on this one. Jezz "localhost" is just another name for the IP Address shown in the command I showed you AFAIK unless your Home Internet is completely different than Standard Settings. eno1: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1496 inet 192.168.1.114 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.1.255 Care to share what ipconfig shows? No one can hack your local network by sharing that......Please do not share your IP Address on open Forums as you did above... This sounds like a Fire Wall issue. Disable it and test. Mine is different cause that is my Shield IP Address. Edited November 17, 2018 by EODCrafter
