Hi, i had another look again to the logs today and the same error occured. I have i VIP account at opensubtitles so i think the limit isn't the issue.

I can download subtitles manually (for example in Kodi). The error is immediate after the task is triggered.

Same problem with 4.0.0.2 on Arch Linux.

I attach the log.

The strangest thing is that I haven't downloaded any subtitles ever from Emby, at the moment. Why does it then connect to the Open Subtitles server? What does it try to download? Does it try to download the subtitles automatically whether or not they are necessary?

Yes, it is automatic. With the open subtitles free plan you will only be able to download a small number each day.

What's the point of automatically downloading subtitles without the need? In my opinion the logical thing would be to download the subtitles only in case of necessity or, better, at the request of the user.

Can this behavior be disabled?

It is off by default. In fact it's only on if you turn it on. Emby is trying to download subtitles because you indicated that you wanted it in Emby library settings. If you want to turn it off, you can easily do that.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks !
