ESPN is a DRM'd channel. It plays on the HDHR app because SiliconDust cut a deal w/ the station/provider to allow it to work in their app. FS1 and several others as well. https://www.thedigitalmediazone.com/2018/07/30/hdhomerun-now-supports-drm-on-android/
mit3gt 6
Hi. What does "on Emby" mean? Using which app? What, exactly, happens? Sorry. I should have been more clear. ESPN will not play on any of my Emby clients. This includes the Roku, Windows & Android Mobile clients. The play circle just spins endlessly without any indication something is wrong. All other channels seem to play fine, including ESPN2. ESPN is a DRM'd channel. It plays on the HDHR app because SiliconDust cut a deal w/ the station/provider to allow it to work in their app. FS1 and several others as well. https://www.thedigitalmediazone.com/2018/07/30/hdhomerun-now-supports-drm-on-android/ I don't know about this. I have Comcast. They broadcast almost everything in the clear, except the paid channels. Unless something has changed recently. I have been using a cable card for a long time without issues. I am getting ESPN2, Fox Sports, FS1, etc. just fine right now. Edited October 30, 2018 by mit3gt

mit3gt 6
I tested this on Plex and ESPN plays fine. No issues. I tested ESPN on the Windows HD Homerun App, it plays fine. None of my Emby clients are able to play this channel. Signs are pointing to an Emby issue. Do you need more logs? I am running Emby Version 3.5.3. First off, I would like to thank everyone for the help. Secondly, I would like to apologize for wasting everyone's time. An Emby Server restart fixed the problem. A restart is the first thing I should have tried. Any ideas as to why only the one channel was throwing an ffmpeg error, and why a system restart would fix it?
ebr 14947
That must've been the only channel that required ffmpeg. Not sure why a re-start would have fixed the issue though.

Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk They had to comply with CableLabs DRM requirements.. no deal cutting for FoxSports et al.. just a valid secure playback path.
