Nvidia Shield/Emby Theater/AVI containers

Hello everyone!

I've seen a few threads out there regarding Emby on Nvidia Shields failing to play AVIs. One resolution was having something pushed to docker. I'm going to be honest and say I don't know what that means or if it can help me.

I run my server on a windows desktop and theater on a networked nvidia shield. I log into a remote share where only AVI containers fail to play.

I have attached a chunk of the logs for when the problem occurred.

Thanks! Keep up all the great work!

Hello!

To be frank...I'm not sure how to post a video sample for my problem as I don't personally have anything that is an AVI. It's all on the remote share that I log in to.

I checked the stats for nerds and saw that no matter what I did for AVIs they were transcoding.

Thank you!

AVI is just the container.  So I'd guess whatever media type is in the AVI is unsupported by the shield... maybe divx or some other fossilized format.

There's no real advantage to AVI in this day and age, so perhaps have the owner of these files convert the contents into a more stream friendly format.
