Richard Branches 231
I have this 29,2 GB movie remuxed directly from a bluray into MKV container, it has a Dolby Atmos (Dolby TrueHD core) bitstream and one PGS subtitle, my device is connected to an HDMI audio extractor with the switch set to "5.1CH" which only support Dolby Digital and DTS passthrough, so Emby detects this and transcodes the audio to Dolby Digital which is correct, the problem is, the video is also getting transcoded when the PGS subtitle is ON but only the audio gets transcoded and remuxed as supposed when the subtitle is OFF. What I want to know is if the reason for this is because my computer is not powerful enough to handle both streams or if there is a transcoding problem you should address. The log is attached. Thanks in advance. ffmpeg-transcode-7da45d38-32f2-4c41-bf19-4a82d03312e0.txt
ebr 14913
If the item has to be transcoded for any reason then the only way to deliver PGS subs will be by burning them in. As we often say, if you rely on subtitles, it will always be best to obtain text-based ones.
