Emby Theater direct connect fails on additional attempts.

Hi,

I am running into an issue with Emby Theater (both Desktop and UWP versions).  After I add a remote server to my connection list (a server not on the local network),  I am only able to connect to it one time.   Subsequent attempts to connect using the now saved connection entry fail with "Connection Failure".  If I then delete the saved connection, and re-add it,  it again works on the intial connection attempt without problem.   However any attempt to connect using this again , continues to fail.

This only appears to affect Emby Theater, as I have tested this against the FireTV ,  Roku,  and Android versions,  all of which work perfectly.

One thing to note,  I am using a Dynamic DNS entry to connect to the remote server, although this had worked fine in the past and works on every other platform's app I have tested.

Also, any local server populates in Emby Theater perfectly, and works on subsequent attempts without issue.

Is this a known issue?  Anyone else seeing this problem?

Thanks

Just tested it now to be sure.. Same issue when adding server via IP address.

Also tested this against 2 different remote servers, same results.

What about if you go through emby connect?

Can you access the server via web browser?

Firewall issue?

All connections work perfectly to the server (browser connection, apps, etc).  This issue only occurs with Emby Theater, only after its a saved connection, and only if its a remote direct connection.

Yes.  If I browse to the remote server via web browser,  copy the remote address IP as reported from the dashboard,  go to Emby Theatre,  add server,  paste in remote address, it connects immediately.   If I then logout in emby theater which takes me to the saved server list,  choose it again, it fails unless I delete it and re-add it again..

This is reproducible every time.

Can you reproduce this with the web version in your chrome browser, http://tv.emby.media ?

Thanks.

Hi Luke.. Just tried it.. Same symptoms.  Initially adding the server and connecting works great.  As soon as I logout, attempt to connect again using the saved/cached listing it fails.  Deleting the entry and re-adding it works again,  rinse , repeat.

The problem appears to be here:

begin connectToServer
connectionmanager.js?v=1538886027225:1 tryReconnect: http://192.168.1.200:8096|http://myremoteserver.us.to:8096|http://71.711.777.711:8096
connectionmanager.js?v=1538886027225:1 getTryConnectPromise http://192.168.1.200:8096
connectionmanager.js?v=1538886027225:1 ConnectionManager requesting url: http://192.168.1.200:8096/emby/system/info/public

connectionmanager.js?v=1538886027225:1 fetchWithTimeout: succeeded connecting to url: http://192.168.1.200:8096/emby/system/info/public
connectionmanager.js?v=1538886027225:1 ConnectionManager response status: 200, url: http://192.168.1.200:8096/emby/system/info/public
connectionmanager.js?v=1538886027225:1 Reconnect succeeded to http://192.168.1.200:8096
connectionmanager.js?v=1538886027225:1 http request succeeded, but found a different server Id than what was expected

It continues to try and use the local server (192.168.1.200) to connect instead of the remote address saved.  It then states it found a different server ID that was expected.  Which makes sense if its expected the remote server, but is still trying to connect to the local one.
