Carlo 4330
Depending on how you get/prepare your media and what type of processing you do it's easy to have all kinds of combinations of audio channels in your language. I personally add an AAC audio track as the default while retaining all other English tracks. This allows me to have files that playback direct on all kinds of devices. Downside to this is every app will want to play the first audio track which for me will always be a two channel audio track. My feature request is to have an option in each client to select the "best" audio channel for anything it plays with multiple tracks. This way if a movie/show has DTS or Dolby 5.1 it would get used instead of a stereo track. This could be elaborate but it could also be as simple as having an app setting to check off audio types supported in that environment and the speaker system (i.e 5.1, 2.0). The client would then choose among the supported audio type and choose the one with the highest speaker count that is supported.
