Shield video going black for a couple seconds?

I know I am supposed to have a log, I didn't get it but still wanted to ask. I have a Shield hooked up to a Denon x1400 AVR. I have noticed lately that during playback the screen will go black for a second or two. When this happens my AVR clicks, last night when it happened a file that had DD 5.1 started playing in stereo at a much lower volume once it recovered.

I had to stop playback and resume and the issue was solved. It's not the file.

I asked in the Shield forum and no one is seeing this. I know there is a host of things it could be, but its out of the blue and I haven't messed with things recently. I did update the Shield last week or so.

Emby is my main player, although I do use other apps but so far think I have only seen it with emby.

Hi.  At what point does this happen?

If it is at playback start and you have refresh rate switching turned on, that is normal.

If it was during playback, it sounds like there may have been a temporary network disruption that caused playback to error out and then the app recovered and restarted with a lower quality.

Sorry it happens during playback not at the beginning, and I do not have refresh rate switching on.

You think its a network error huh, should I go pull a server log next time I see it?

My network is wired gigabit and usually pretty stable. But thanks for pointing me in some direction.

It just happened so I pushed stop and grabbed the log. Can anyone see anything weird?

Exactly what were you playing and exactly when (in that log) did this happen?

I kind of doubt we'll see much from the server perspective though.  A log sent from the app right after might show something...

I'm not really sure when in the log I was just always told by you guys to get the log and I always grab the most recent one.

As far as what I was playing do you mean what type of file?

Where would I get a log from the app, on the Shield?

I meant the name of the file so I could find it in the log - and a general time when this happened, again, to locate the proper place in the log.

Sending a log from the app is covered in How to Report a Problem.

Thanks.

Oops I'm sorry.

Is "G:" an actual physical drive or a mapped network drive?

I saw a few different path refs to that file which may be a problem.  One of them was also "D:\".

Finally, there are a bunch of DLNA socket exceptions in the middle of your playback.  Possible those are causing a disruption so, if you don't use DLNA, you may try turning off those options in the server.

G is a physical drive but it is shared and Emby has the network share name. I am not sure why D would be coming up at all?

I will check out the DLNA thing I don't really use it. Thank you.
