What is DLNA and why would I use it

Don't mean to be such a nerd but what exactly is DLNA

and why would I use and how would I use it?

DLNA is for "dumber" devices, like if your TV has built in DLNA compatibility you could play stuff to it without using a separate machine (except from the server and the tv :P ).

You can "Send To" your TV/HTS with no client (MB Theater, Roku, etc) right from the server as long as you have a newer device that supports DLNA
