Guest Normal
Just happened the second time now. The Android app stops casting to my chromecast app after about 30 to 40 minutes. The movie gets in "stopped" mode (not playing) and I need to re-start it. My wifi connection is top - no problem here. Where could that come from? From the App or my Smartphone? The app was "open" while that happened. Edited September 13, 2018 by Normal
Luke 37178
Does the Chromecast keep playing?
Guest Normal
It's like this: Chromecast on TV, HDMI 3. Active HDMI is #3 and TV is on. I go on my mobile phone and open the Emby app. I click the Cast icon and click on the Chromecast in that list which is on my TV. Then I open up a movie entry and click "play". Now I just turn the screen of my mobile phone off. The movie is on my TV now. About 30 to 40 minutes later it get's "stopped" like if I click on the stop button. I tested that all day long. When I play a movbie as above, then close the Emby app and then turn off the screen of my mobile phone this doesn't happen. Not sure where that comes from. When clicking on cast, Emby just sends the signal to the Chromecast "Look: here you have a file to play which is located 'here' " - right? It's not the Emby app itself playing / sending the movie. Luke 37178
It sounds to me like your Chromecast is dropping from the network, no? Try lowering the in-app Chromecast quality setting and see if that helps. Thanks.

Guest Normal
Happens again everytime when the Android App is open. This time after 22 Minutes to 30 Minutes. Not important what movie, what size or resolution. Happens everytime I start something on my TV via my phone and let the Emby app open. Edit before you start investigating this, I will completely re-do my phone (new android etc). Maybe it's just bugged. Guest Normal
Update: today I was casting a youtube video to my chromecast from my PC. The Emby app on my PHONE with no video playing was open. My phone screen was off. Suddenly my youtube video on my TV gots stopped and my TV displayed the Emby "Ready to play..." screen. Definitly a Emby problem with the android app! Edited September 19, 2018 by Normal
