But i can say, that for the moment the WMC plugin is more mature then nextpvr plugin...
Latchmor 584
I guess it's fair to say that the .ts format will be supported by more playback devices (in general not just via MB) than .wtv is...? I see that using MB to DLNA on my LG TV it receives a .ts file so if I recorded something with nextpvr is it possible that the file could be sent to this tv with no transcoding at all? (I have no idea if you can adjust the nextpvr recording quailty etc) Does transcoding cpu usage vary between file types? I.e. more cpu usage transcoding a .wtv compared to .ts? I'm just thinking out loud here as I have no idea, lol. Cheers
emveepee 112
I am a long time NextPVR user and I'd say explore WMC first if you are using Win7 (or earlier) but I don't see that it is worth upgrading to 8.1 Pro just for it. Americans who want Copy Once CableCard recordings won't have a choice other than WMC but that content is only available in WMC anyway. A few NextPVR features I can think of helpful from an MB3 perspective are - a lighter backend at rest, WMC takes about 20% more CPU on my machine - multi-rec (record multiple channel on the same digital mux) - card sharing support - IPTV (not the same as Internet TV!) chopperno5 0
Hi Guys, Just read this thread and like you Lee, the CS word caught my eye! Had a quick butchers at the NPVR website and, yes, it appears acamd can be used (amongst others like Hadu OSCAM etc) very much like DVBlogic uses them.. Here is a link to a relevant forum thread: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showthread.php?49265-Recording-Sky-Channels&highlight=acamd This may well be just what I need to break the dependency on TVsource that I have had! Will follow this with interest - without a test rig I can't risk breaking a working environment until its a bit more mature to risk the WAF! Good luck all.
