chef 3746
The other day I was checking my server, for some reason it kept freezing during video playback when I was watching something directly from the machine. To my dismay the RAM chips where SMOKING HOT. I quickly google some answers, but when it comes to hardware issues with computers it can really be a needle in a hay stack. Everyone had a different idea about what is causing issues. I wasn't about to take my frankinstine of a computer into the local PC shop for them to look at it. No one should see my worthless piece of crap computer. I read one particular internet thread that mentioned corrupted RAM over heating. I tested each RAM chip, one at a time, letting them run the PC on their own, before testing the next one. Sure enough, one RAM chip over heated. Now with that chip removed, my Server PC runs fine. I turned the fan up from the boot menu donut runs high all the time (the PC is a piece of crap, it will only be a matter of time before it actually does die). Just thought it might come in handy for someone with similar problems in the future. Ben
