jmariani 11
Hi, I usually do a preprocess of my music with Picard/MusicBrainz before uploading. Also, Emby uses MusicBrainz to scan for metadata. I'm wondering that maybe this is a redundant process and I can safely disable the Musicbrainz metadata from Emby. Am I correct? Thank you in advance. Luke 37064
If the music is tagged by mbz ids, then the emby lookups will be faster and more accurate. If it is not tagged, then we will search musicbrainz using title names and other attributes of your audio files.
jmariani 11
So, since I'm doing the mbz tagging manually, I can get rid of the Emby mbz searching and then, the library scan will take seconds instead of hours. Right?
Luke 37064
You don't need to disable anything. When it sees the mbz ids are already there, it will adjust accordingly. Thanks.
jmariani 11
Why it takes so long, then? Today I added an album, with mbz Ids, and took around 10 minutes to show up, and without tags. As I played every track, the tags were appearing. BTW, there's a lot of albums without covers and tags. And all of them have passed my manual mbz treatment. My library has near 40K individual albums.
