vaise 307
I have a user on my system that is planning moving off just using the webrowser to access emby on their laptop (connected to hdmi on TV) to a TV based system in the cheapest way possible as they have two TV's they wish to use. Neither are smart TV's. I suspect the cheapest will be a cheap androidTV box, but another option may be just connecting a chromecast which they can buy from a local shop. The however use the ios emby app - can that cast to chromecast, or must you use the andoid app ? I cant test as I dont have one. Thanks,
mastrmind11 717
I can't imagine why it wouldn't work.
Luke 37128
Yes you can. Emby for iOS supports casting to Chromecast.

gnollo 16
I tested Chromecast ages ago and I found its quality very dependent to the Wi-Fi strenght. In my case it was borderline so I bought an Amazon Fire TV HD box, and used the Ethernet instead. It handles everything beautifully and feeds my projector.
