el_pedriyo 0
Hello, I just wanted to know where can I enable the throttling for the transcode of video or just of audio, or both of them, as it is pretty annoying to have audio transcoding working although it uses low CPU power always running when maybe the user watchs half of a film or TV serie and then he comes back at the next hour and the whole video has to transcode again. I came from Plex and on their config they have something called buffer for the transcoder which normally I have it to 60 sec, video and audio, so that once it transcodes 60 sec more than where the user is, it just stops transcoding. Can this be achieved with Emby? Kind regards, Pedro
Luke 37099
Hi, it's possible for the future. ffmpeg doesn't natively support this. They modified ffmpeg to acheive this, so for us that's something we'd have to do as well. Thanks.
el_pedriyo 0
mmm, I thought this feature was already achieved, as one user posted on here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/40318-transcode-throttling/
mastrmind11 717
mmm, I thought this feature was already achieved, as one user posted on here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/40318-transcode-throttling/ That post is 2 years old. The feature (hack) has since been removed because it didn't work very well.
