Ok - I hope someone has an answer for this as I have ran into a bit of a snag.

I have set up my libraries in such a way

G:\Movies (for main library)

Then underneath this directory it splits into genres

\Action\(movie directory)\Movie.mp4

\Adventure\(movie directory)\Movie.mp4
etc, etc...

All is well when going into folder view - or even going into the (Movieserv) icon which correctly displays the genres - then sub folders

...

But now I have created libraries for each of these genres - so that I have an entry on the main screen for them. The libraries are linked properly - but going into these newly created library entries - they are empty.

I have deleted the library.db and rescanned/rebuilt my collection, but it did not make any change to these newly added libraries.

Below shows an example of what is working and what isn't

For the example using the "Kids" directory (link to G:\Movieserv\Kids in library) - this is what I get:

5b5b9a2b21f69_Kidstop.jpg

But using the "folders" route to kids - I get this:

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening? Is it because it sees the newly added libraries and entries as duplicate information from what is in the database and just does not populate them, or is it something else? Is there some way to get this working properly?

you cant have a library pointing to a sub folder of another library

i.e.

x:\movies covers all folder and subfolder

if you then setup a second library pointing at

x:\movies\genre

you are confusing emby as it already has that folder etc as part of the x:\movies library

IF under x:\movies you ONLY have your genre folders then if you remove the x:\movies library it should work

as then all the libraries would be pointing to a unique root folder

Library Genre1 -> x:\movies\genre1

Library Gerne2 -> x:\movies\genre2

etc

The duplicates at this time are not going to work. They used to work a long time ago, but it was lost in the shuffle at some point.  Penkethboy is correct.

At some point I'd like to get support for this restored. Thanks.

Thank you both - this is good information to know as I didn't know what was holding it back.
