Forced subtitles not working.

For lord of the rings I have two English subtitles. The default one that subtitle everything and a forced subtitle. Within the movie I can only select "english" subtitle which is the normal one. And in the title menu I can see both but if I select the forced subtitle and play it from there it stills insists on playing the normal subtitle.

What gives?

I can't find the topic but this sounds like the same problem we had before with two subs of the same language not making it into the manifest.

Forced subtitle issue is a long an outstanding issue and so it seems still not fixed, what started here many many months ago:

The user actively having that issue (and also was a valuable contributor to the Emby Apple TV Testflight) probably switched to Plex (https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/59698-docker-server-version-34111-does-not-startup-on-synology/&do=findComment&comment=586718) ... or is having a holiday break.

We're going to have the new player up for testing very soon, so let's re-evaluate at that point. Thanks.

Sorry for adding to this (older) topic, but I just found out I am experiencing the same thing/problem/bug(?). Most of my media is in mkv containers, mpeg4/h.264, ac-3 and srt subtitles. If the subtitles don't play, I open the conainer file with MKVToolnix and sure enough, the subtitles are forced. Change this, repackage, and it works fine again. Same seemed to be true if there was a chapters file present in the container, somehow it seemed to mess up Emby recognizing the subtitles.

We are working on our new video player which will have considerably more robust subtitle support. Thanks guys.
