Hi

i just had an issue with the emby server i had about 15 or so people watching the same TV channel    ( football was on )  and all of a sudden the picture starts to go funny blocky freezing and all that stuff

i checked the source and that was fine but most of the people that were watching were transcoding but all at different rates  now i know that it was not low on cpu power it was running at about 22 percent  but what i think happened was there were too many transcoded files and somehow got confused . my transcode folder is a standalone SSD Dive so that should be fine.

so it would be nice if in the next update there was an option to disable transcoding on all the TV channels for all the users at the same time that way people will hopefully choose the right version of the channel SD ,HD,FHD and not just play the FHD and then trancode it down to 3mbps or something like that .

thank you

Dom

Hi Luke

yes i know that you can do that but like you said that will affect all media and you have to do it user by user if you have 50 or 100 user s that takes time but an option to disable all TV transcoding would work nice .

Right I understand. Currently today that's the only way you'd be able to do it.
