I'm new to emby, but I just can't find the setting to control access to my server.

now when I use emby.media, click login and skip emby connect, as long as I type in my server IP I get full access to my server. no password or username needed.

how can I secure my server, at least require a password to access?

thanks

Hi.  It sounds like you probably logged in previously and had the "Remember me" option checked.  So it is :).

Assuming you created users with passwords, simply log out using the menu and then, the next time you log in, it should present you with a user selection screen.

unfortunately this is NOT the case.

I've tried private mode in safari, incognito mode in chrome (where no cookies will be used), and also a freshly downloaded app on iPad, none of them require a password to access my server.

all I need is to manually type in my IP and wait for 3 seconds, and then full access to my server.

Hi.  Did you do what I suggested (actually log out via the menu)?

yes I did, but the server is still showing up there... I'm so confused now...

I just used another laptop that was NEVER used with emby, I'm still able to gain full access by just entering the IP.

I just added the server manually by type in the IP manually, and it will show "please log in" page for a second or two, then without doing anything (the time is too short to do anything anyway), it will refresh and I'm in the server.

Okay, so did you see my assumption above?

Did you setup only one user and not give them a password?

Yes it sounds like you haven't given your user a password.
